Share ideas, meet new contacts, take part in an exchange of knowledge, or simply spend quality time with like-minded people at our Gamecity Treff, Games Compass, Game Starter, or other activities. Gamecity has the right events for you! You will also find an overview of other games industry events in our calendar.
The Gamecity Treff started in 2003 (!) as a networking event to bring together Hamburg’s games industry and is still going strong with up to 200 participants per event. These informal events aim to promote the networking and exchange of information within the industry.
Are you interested in starting a career in the games industry, but don't know how to proceed? Find advice and tips in our Game Starter event series, where experienced industry experts share their knowledge with you. Hamburg is not only a hotspot for the development of computer games, but also for numerous vocational schools and universities that offer courses specifically for future professionals in the games industry.
Especially for students and career starters, the exchange with experienced industry members is essential to know more about the requirements in the individual disciplines and to prepare for them. Gamecity Hamburg promotes this exchange with the new, regular event format Game Starter. Videos of past Game Starter events can be viewed on this page at any time.
Gamers are diverse: Around 2,2 billion people around the world play video games, coming from a multitude of ethnic and religious backgrounds, nationalities, genders and sexual identities, abilities, age and language groups. The communities that form around games and the teams that make the games aren't always as diverse. This has already sparked a host of discussions throughout the games industry and community.
As Gamecity Hamburg, we want to contribute to the important discourse by hosting talks and panel discussions on diversity-related topics in different fields of the games industry and gaming culture in our digital event series “Gamecity Impulse” throughout 2021.
