Programs
Gamecity Hamburg has a wide repertoire of programs, which includes opportunities to network and engage in international exchange, as well as knowledge transfer, promotion of young talent, and project support. Right here you find all information about two of our specific programs in the field of international exchange and networking:
- Our Games Transfer funding program that grants individual funding for game developers and game businesses from Hamburg to access national and international events of their choice where they can present their projects, acquire new business contacts, and close deals.
- Our "Road to" programs through which we offer game developers and game businesses from Hamburg access to major national and international industry events free of charge as part of Gamecity Hamburg delegations.

Games Transfer Funding
The Games Transfer funding program is directed to applicants independent from large corporations who do not permanently employ more than 20 people and who can demonstrate a valid need for funding in their application. Applicants can pick the most relevant events for themselves and can apply at any time for the Games Transfer funding. Up to 1,500 euros can be granted per applicant per calendar year for participation at online as well as offline events.
The goals of the Games Transfer funding program are:
- Raising visibility of Hamburg-based developers, games projects, and games companies on relevant national and international industry events.
- Supporting the initiation of new cooperations and business deals.

"Road to" Programs
Gamecity Hamburg partners with selected major national and international industry events to offer delegation packages to developers, publishers and students from Hamburg. In the past, Gamecity sent delegations to e.g. gamescom through "Road to" programs. Gamecity Hamburg publishes calls for applications for individual "Road to" programs in advance of the events and will specify eligibility criteria, application deadlines and benefits for each event.
The goals of the "Road to" programs are:
- Raising visibility of Hamburg-based developers, games projects, and games companies on relevant national and international industry events.
- Supporting the initiation of new cooperations and business deals.
- Representing Hamburg as a major games industry location and its diverse games ecosystem at relevant national and international industry events.

Internship Games
Supporting the industry of tomorrow is an important part of our mission, which is why we organise the "Internship Games" in cooperation with the Intitiative Creative Gaming, HAW Hamburg and local studios. In this internship, students from the 9th grade of Hamburg's schools have the opportunity to gain insights into different jobs in the industry and are being prepared to choose a career in games after graduating. The three-week-long internship is recognized by schools as the mandatory internship required by the curriculum.
The goals of the "Internship Games" program are:
- Providing students with information regarding a possible future career in games.
- Connecting studios with future applicants for apprenticeships or other opportunities
