From August 26-30, six Indie Game Studios from Hamburg showcased their games at gamescom, the biggest games convention in the world in Cologne. With our Road to gamescom program, these studios could present their games, talk to publishers, investors, press, and many many visitors and represent the creative games industry made in Hamburg. We can look back on a very busy gamescom time. 

Road to Polaris 2026: Gamecity Showcases 6 Games Made in Hamburg

The second round of prototype funding, with a total of up to 180,000 euros for video games “Made in Hamburg" runs from September 4-24.

To support Hamburg’s games industry and promote young talent, Gamecity Hamburg offers a funding program for the development of digital game prototypes. The funding supports up to 80,000 euros per project as a non-repayable grant.

Games Lift

The Games Lift Incubator supports young talent, founders, and start-ups in creating concepts and demos for digital games. Up to five teams are supported in our annual batch for three months with mentoring, workshops, workplaces in Hamburg’s Code Working Space and a funding of 15,000 euros per team.
