Looking back at the Hamburg Games Conference 2022

The Hamburg Games Conference on March 2 and 3 was a real success as a hybrid event! We look back on two wonderful days on board the digital cruise and interesting conversations on site at the RCADIA.

After last year's successful purely digital Hamburg Games Conference, this year the popular online platform made by Super Crowd Entertainment was combined with a conference day in the new gaming house RCADIA. Almost 600 conference guests from 35 nations visited the 13th Hamburg Games Conference on March 02 and 03, 2022 and were able to meet new and old contacts from the international games industry thanks to the hybrid event concept. 18 presentations gave reviews, insights and outlooks on the constantly changing games industry under the motto "Moving Markets" and 61 partners and exhibitors presented themselves digitally and on site.

On the conference's online platform, conference participants were able to explore a virtual world with six different cities, where numerous companies, studios and newcomers presented themselves.
A number of graduates of the Games Lift incubator and Prototype Funding Program showed their projects both on the digital platform and on site at RCADIA, where they could be tested for the first time, for example "Wild Woods" by Octofox Games, "The Amusement" by Curvature Games or "Soultaire" by Beardshaker Games. In addition, Impawsible Games wiht "Ninja Brigade", Invariant Games with "Lost Sector", OneManOnMars with "Leif's Adventure", Denise Koch with "Monstersongs VR", Radioactive Dreams with "Turbo Shell", Mufflonzucht with "Crumbling", Symmetry Break Games with "Prospector", THREAKS with "Project MORPH" and Elecular with "The Hunt for Epic Treasure" joined us on the conference, showcasing their projects.
Other Hamburg studios offered demos of their games and experiences, such as the VR game "Tower Tag" or "Project Paraniod", a unique augmented reality experience.

"The Hamburg Games Conference is an annual highlight and this year again kicked off international industry events. With the conference, we invite the games industry to cast their gaze towards Hamburg as a key games location in Europe. We are very pleased with the great response of the participants," recapitulated Dennis Schoubye, head of Gamecity Hamburg.

Afterwards, the RCADIA invited to a relaxed conclusion of the HGC, so that we are already looking forward to the next edition! Impressions of the event on site and the online platform can be found in our gallery and the aftermovie below.
