Neurodactics releases math learning app Mambio
2021 the Hamburg math learning app Mambio by neurodactics GmbH was supported with 39,273€ with Gamecity Hamburg's prototype funding and 1,172 360€ from the BMWK and has now successfully celebrated its final app release on June 26.
The playfully designed app Mambio is aimed at children who are about to start school or are already attending elementary school. The app offers individually tailored learning units, the combination of classic learning methods with the latest research findings and a playful approach that makes children enjoy numbers. With simple handling and easy-to-follow mechanics, the app can be used independently by children with and without disabilities. The app was developed with the explicit goal of being accessible to all children from the age of five, regardless of whether they have learning difficulties or not.
"For us, inclusion means no one should be excluded and we always look for individual solutions," says Dr. Torben Rieckmann, founding member and scientific director, summing up Mambio's claim.
The concept: With individually adapted math content and varied learning adventures, children from the age of five are taught an initial understanding of quantities and train their mental arithmetic skills in a playful way. Thanks to the language-based structure, preschoolers can already learn independently and without additional assistance. This not only supports the self-confidence of the target group, but also prevents the so-called math frustration, through which every fourth child develops mathematical learning difficulties.
