Goodgame Studios Reaches One Billion Euros in Sales with Empire Series

Congratulations to Goodgame Studios for reaching more than one billion euros in sales with their "Empire" series. The franchise includes four titles at this point and is played by over 220 million registered users, making it a great success for the Hamburg-based studio.

The "Empire" series started in 2011 with the browser game "Goodgame Empire". Since then, the universe was expanded with three spin-offs for mobile devices. All four titles have pulled in millions of players over the years thanks to a consistent commitment to updates and high quality. 10 years after its original release, "Goodgame Empire" was fittingly awarded the title "Evergreen" at the German Developer Awards 2021.

Now the series has reached a new milestone, bringing in a total of one billion euros in revenue. This makes Goodgame Studios the second game company based in Hamburg to reach such an impressive benchmark, InnoGames reported a total of one billion euros of lifetime revenue in 2019.

“We are very proud to have established an international brand 'Made in Germany' generating more than one billion euros in a highly competitive market. It is an outstanding achievement based on constant commitment, distinctive know-how and consistent innovation from all the teams. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all employees and colleagues at Goodgame Studios, without whose passion this success would not have been possible.”, Oleg Rößger, CEO of Goodgame Studios stated in a press release.

Congrats to Goodgame Studios on this remarkable success, we're looking forward to whatever else the future holds for this long-running series!
