In the games industry, the importance of diversity is evident in more and more diverse game content and game characters as well as in the developer teams and gamers worldwide.

For us, at Gamecity Hamburg it is important to show solidarity with this important causes and amplify the voices of people who work to make the world and the games industry a better and more welcoming place. In the course of Pride Month, we will give game recommendations for games that deal with LGBTQ+ issues, as well as publish articles with positive examples. You can look forward to a new talk in our digital Gamecity Impulse event series.

Team Diversity / Hier spielt Vielfalt

As a first info, we want to draw your attention to the initiative "Team Diversity / Hier spielt Vielfalt". The "Hier spielt Vielfalt / Team Diversity" initiative was launched by the German games industry association (game Verband der deutschen Games-Branche) and is a joint declaration by the German games industry to support diversity. It aims to leverage the unifying power of games: Millions of players worldwide play together regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, origin or religion.

The German games industry is positioning itself against prejudice and discrimination, and with this declaration is standing up for more diversity and appreciation of diversity within the industry and beyond. The signed companies and individuals express their support for an open and diverse society, where diverse games and developers enrich the games culture likewise.

More information can be found on the website "Hier spielt Vielfalt / Team Diversity".
