Gamecity Forecast: new worksession series on games industry trends and topics

In our new worksession series “Gamecity Forecast” we aim to take a look beyond the day-to-day business - and put our heads together on topics that will gain importance for the games sector in the (near) future.

Note: This is a past event. Read our recap of the work session and our learnings here.

To share insights and develop new perspectives, we bring together experts from various fields with key people from the Hamburg games industry and other sectors. In a compact two-hour-session an expert guest speaker kicks off the discussion with a short keynote, then participants share thoughts, exchange perspectives and develop ideas together in mixed workshop groups. After the main events there’ll be opportunities to continue discussions on your ideas and build networks to follow up on them.

For the first session we ask the question: Is work still a place?

For many teams and companies switching to remote work brought up challenges in working together - as well as opportunities to try out more flexible concepts of work and work spaces. What can we take away from these experiences to shape the way we and our teams want to work together in the future?

Join us for Gamecity Forecast, a compact 2-hour-workshop-format, in which we’ll explore how the ways of working together in the games industry changed during the last year and what those changes entail for our work environments.

Thomas Huth, Hamburg-based creator of progressive work environments, will join us as guest expert to kick off the session with his thoughts on existing and new places of work. You’ll then team up in groups with other participants to exchange your views on current challenges, discuss possible approaches of rethinking work and workspaces and develop ideas together. The evening will end with an exchange of group outputs and an open networking session.

How to participate:

Are you already in the process of rethinking how you work together as a team - and where you do it? Are you already working on concepts about what to change about your work spaces?

Then join us on June 9, 5-7pm for our first worksession!

This session is intentionally open to participants from different industries and from different company sizes so that every participant can profit from a wide range of perspectives. We reserve 50% of the seats for Hamburg games companies.
