Volunteer work: Inspire kids & youth to start coding!
Looking for ways to use your IT skills for volunteer work and do some good? Then we’d like to point your attention to really interesting not-for-profit organization based in Hamburg: Become an inspirer at Hacker School!

Spark young people’s interest in coding, software and information technology! Hacker School is a not-for-profit organization whose vision is that every young person during their first education should at least have written one line of code and know how computers and programs work. To achieve that, they offer specialized courses for kids and youth from 11 to 18 years of age, teaching them the basics of digital technology and software. Courses are offered at cost-price or on a pay-what-you-can-basis to be open to all participants.
And for that noble deed they need your support: you can volunteer as an “inspirer”, a coach conducting one if the two-days-intensive courses. Or you can contribute by drafting up course materials to be used by other inspirers. Or, as a company you can become a partner, provide a room and equipment for a course as well as enable your employees to become inspirers during their work hours. Several Hamburg-based games companies are already in talks with Hacker School.
