Three new positions at gamecity:Hamburg filled

In addition to a new project manager, gamecity:Hamburg receives two further positions in communication and event management.

Increasing the budget for gamecity:Hamburg has made it possible to create new positions for the initiative to strengthen the existing network in order to better support the games industry un Hamburg. With the new team, new strategies for the Hamburg games industry can now be developed and expanded offerings can be created. This was previously only possible on a small scale. Existing event formats, such as the cross-industry Gamecity Treff, will be supplemented with new formats and constantly expanded.

Dennis Schoubye, experienced communications consultant, will take over the project manager role of gamecity:Hamburg from July 2019. Previously, he served as Senior PR Manager at InnoGames. He is extensively connected in the Hamburg games industry and beyond and he knows the requirements and challenges of this market. His prior professional experience inscludes roles with the PR agencies Faktor 3 and Quinke Networks, as well as Bigpoint. He is supported in communications by Anna Jäger, previously a media designer in Hamburg and a passionate gamer, and in event management by event and sound engineer René Leck, who is active in the Hamburg indie scene with his own game studio. Annika Heilmann, a game design student at the University of Applied Sciences Europe, will continue to provide project assistance.

With the change of ownership of gamecity:Hamburg to Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft and the creation of new positions, new momentum is coming into the networking activities for the games industry. Since 2003, the task of the initiative has been to support the games ecosystem in Hamburg, to make it visible, to network the parties involved, to maintain relevant intersections and to identify new subjects.

For this purpose gamecity:Hamburg has developed successful formats and offerings. The challenge of the coming years, which the new team will face, is to expand, update and supplement the offerings and thus reinforce the positioning of Hamburg as a national games location.

An indeal opportunity to get to know the new gamecity:Hamburg team personally is the Gamecity Sommertreff om 17 July 2019 at the former Hauptzollamt Hafen Hamburg. You can register here.
