We're over the moon because of what happened at the German Computer Game Award 2024 (Deutscher Computerspielpreis, DCP): From the nominated Hamburg studios and developers, four (!) were able to bring prizes back to Hamburg!

The DCP has been awarded since 2009 and is organized by the German Federal Republic and the Game Verband (Game Association). Fifteen categories with a total of 800,000 euros prize money were up to win, and these are the studios and developers from Hamburg that were awarded:

We celebrate with these great teams and studios from Hamburg

Best German Game: Rockfish Games with EVERSPACE 2

(endowed with 100,000 euros)

The high-quality and extensive single-player space shooter game from Hamburg-based Rockfish Games impressed the jury and all of us. A crowd-favorite with numerous RPG mechanics, a gripping combat system, and over 100 hand-built levels. Well deserved. Congratulations! Find EVERSPACE 2 on Steam.

Young Talent Award Best Prototype: Symmetry Break Studio with Misgiven

(endowed with 50,000 euros)

In this narrative 2D sci-fi adventure, players control the protagonist through a city shrouded in toxic fog, where everyone uses masks to survive. The twist - the dialogue choices depend on character relationships and emotions, showing the complexity of human communication, fears, insecurities, and misunderstandings. Find Misgiven on Steam

In addition to participating in our Games Lift Incubator 2021, Misgiven also received our prototype funding in 2022.

Also nominated were our Games Lift Incubator participants 2022 and prototype funding recipients 2023 Amberdive Interactive with REPLICORE, which means they received 25,000 euros with the nomination.

Well done and congratulations!

Best Innovation and Technology: Fox-Assembly with Marble Maze

(endowed with 40,000 euros)

This interactive installation playfully combines digital content and analog hardware. It is played on a large wall of videos with buttons, cables, levers, and several monitors. Get to know Fox-Assembly here.

Best Mobile Game: Tivola Games with Cat Rescue Story

(endowed with 40,000 euros)

Who doesn't love cats? In this cozy mobile game, players take control of an animal shelter for cats, where they care for the animals and help them find new homes. A lot of attention to detail and intuitive controls convinced the jury! Find out more about Tivola Games.

Congratulations to all winners! We hope to see more from you in the future!
