Frisia - Cozy Villages

By Rouven Cabanis

Games Lift 2024

In Frisia – Cozy Villages you start on an uninhabited Northsea island and are tasked with building a functional, yet cozy and beautiful little town. Inspired by the frisian architecture of the Dutch and German Northsea coast, Frisia aims to create a cozy gameplay experience in harmony with simple town-building and strategy game mechanics.

Frisia is a cozy building strategy game that transports the player to the Frisian North Sea coast of the 19th century. Frisia has set itself the task of capturing the unique atmosphere and rugged beauty of the Frisian Wadden Sea islands and the very special way of life in harmony with the shifting tides.

The tides change the appearance of the landscape at regular intervals. The low tide washes up valuable ressources, which can be collected to construct and unlock new buildings. High tide opens up new opportunities for players to explore the map by ship and gives them time to build up their village. This can be gradually expanded and embellished with a variety of decorative objects.  Players manage production chains and take care of the needs of their villagers. In addition to washed up goods, other unique objects and interesting places can be found in the tidal flats, where one or two secrets may also lie dormant...
