Kick-off for Games Lift Teams 2021!
It’s on: Yesterday, we kicked off the intensive phase of Games Lift Incubator 2021 together with the five dev teams from Hamburg. For the next three months, the teams will be able to fully concentrate on their game ideas and attend workshops and individual mentoring sessions with international industry experts.
For the first time, the teams that made it into our Games Lift Incubator 2021 program got together to get to know each other and start their time in the incubator. Twelve participants from the teams tool1, Symmetry Break Games, SUPERNATURAL GAMES, consider it and solo-dev Denise Koch attended the kick off event at designxport in Hamburg’s HafenCity.
The afternoon started with a round of introductions by the incubator teams and Gamecity Hamburg staff. Maggie and Daniel, the Gamecity project managers responsible for the Games Lift program gave a welcome presentation and filled the teams in on everything they need to know during their time in the incubator: What workshops with games industry experts are coming up, how to access their common co-working office, how to contact the various experts in the Games Lift network for individual exchange and much more.
Afterwards the event transformed into a casual get-together with some Hamburg-based Games Lift mentors joining in, like media and games attorney Dr. Christian Rauda, Jan-Peter Ewert from Valve, Johannes Kuhlmann and Stephan Beier from Deep Silver FISHLABS, Maximilian Seeburg from games-investment company 1up capital and Games Lift awarding committee member and CTO of Sviper, Ole Schaper. See some photos of the get-together below!
Thank you to everyone who attended – it was a really good time and we’re now even more excited to see the teams’ progress with their games projects in the next three months of the Games Lift Incubator program!
From September to December the teams will have a full schedule of workshops, mentoring sessions and intensive work on their projects. On October 21 they will show their progress in the Milestone Pitch and after another phase of intensive work, they will present their work publicly at the Games Lift Graduation on December 9.
