XR HACK is the global XR Champions League, organized by XR Bootcamp, partnering up with Meta and providing a prize pool of 100,000 USD. The Cologne edition kicks off from August 18 to August 20. XR creators are invited to use the latest tech stacks to "hack" challenges for applications, solve design problems, gaming experiences, and more. For three days, the participants create in teams or solo and get input on-site and guidance from international XR professionals. The location Startplatz in Cologne is a known start-up hub, coworking space, and incubator and is close to the trade fair, where gamescom will start on August 21. At the end of day 3 the hackathon closes with a big party where everybody in XR is invited.
