Clear the ring for the fourth Portfolio Slam!
If you want to find a steady job as a game artist with companies in the games industry or acquire jobs as a freelancer, you need a convincing portfolio. But what exactly defines a good portfolio? Usually, the review of portfolios takes place behind closed doors. In many cases, applicants do not receive any helpful feedback after the review.
Why should you participate in the Portfolio Slam?
At our fourth Portfolio Slam, students and young professionals will once again have the opportunity to learn what experts look for in a portfolio review. During the networking afterward, they can make valuable contacts with companies and other artists. The companies, in turn, have the opportunity to get to know the young talent and to network.
After three slams focusing on interaction design, editorial design, and motion design, the fourth edition will focus on game art (concept art 2D, character art 3D, environments, etc.).
Three students or young professionals will present their portfolio on stage. Afterward, they will receive constructive feedback from the expert jury. The audience will learn something from the live feedback and get some clarity on what is behind job postings for game artists.
All three presented portfolios will be published to a broad audience on PAGE-Online after the event. PAGE is a magazine of the creative industry that addresses all "graphic, media, communication designers, and developers in their variants as concept developers, creative designers, and creators as well as employers."
We are looking for
Career starters or employees in the games industry (up to five years after graduation), students, freelancers from Hamburg who would like to present their portfolio and receive feedback from the expert jury.
The presenters will receive
- Guestlist seats for 2 accompanying persons
- free drinks
- a mention by name and presentation of the portfolio on PAGE-Online following the event.

... a coronavirus vaccination certificate (complete vaccination) according to § 2 paragraph 5 or
