In 2011, two young entrepreneurs came up with the idea of the "Developer Conference" to bring together more developers in a relaxed and familiar atmosphere to form a community, to broaden their horizons together and at the same time to push Hamburg as a location in the digital industry. Within two years, today's code.talks conference has grown into an exchange platform for over 1,500 tech enthusiasts who share our passion. Every year we offer an updated program with a diverse selection of talks and panel discussions on the topics and trends that are currently moving our developer industry. What you feel like doing at our conference is up to you: exciting talks, coding in peace for yourself or together with others. The fun will not be lost in the process.
e.g. Conference-Track on Alternative Realities & Games:
The first VR glasses were first seen in the cinema decades ago, but thanks in no small part to the availability of affordable powerful hardware, virtual reality applications are slowly but surely making their final triumphant entry into living rooms and architectural offices. Virtual worlds and augmented reality apps are fun primarily because they engage their users in their context much more than their 2D ancestors; upcoming hardware generations and optimized AR/VR frameworks will have a lasting impact on the entertainment industry. Developments such as open metaverses, NFT-based in-game assets, and play-to-earn concepts go far beyond pastimes: alternate realities will fundamentally change how we understand social networks and communities. This track provides insights into the latest developments in the AR/VR scene, but also looks at trends in today's computer game development, their toolkits and frameworks that enable any developer to create virtual worlds in a short time.
