Games Lift 2026
Time Travel Train is a roguelite incremental game about commanding a weaponized locomotive through history. Battle enemies, and upgrade your train to become an unstoppable force!

About the Game
In the game you will unlock devastating weapons, like mortars, missiles or flamethrowers, each with their own unique advantages and use cases. A huge skill tree offers countless upgrades for weapons and train properties. Permanent upgrades from the skill tree and modules on the train mean you can steadily improve your train to get further with each run. The game is played in a third person 3D perspective and offers players the ability to customize their train in the garage, giving each player true ownership over their machine by applying a custom paint job or applying modules to the outside of the train. Each time period offers a unique experience, with different enemies and formations to conquer: Roman legions, medieval knights, and Napoleon's personal guard. Every era brings new threats. The longer a run goes on, the more elements are added. The camera zooms out the faster your train gets, and while crowd control starts with managing maybe five enemies at once, after some time you'll be fighting hundreds at once, blowing them up with increasingly stronger weapon systems.

The Studio EdelErde
EdelErde was founded by three HAW-Hamburg students (Jonas Gruetzmacher, Felipe Versick and Jan Hildebrandt) in 2025 with the ambition of making games in short release cycles. The three founders have been working together since 2025, each bringing years of experience from dozens of personal projects and game jam games made beforehand. All of them share a background in game development, which lets them cover the whole pipeline between them. Jan handles programming, Jonas takes care of producing and game design, and Felipe is responsible for the visuals.
Since founding, EdelErde has already released two games (Desktop Town and Bird Game 3) and is currently working on another title (Sonar Mining Co.), in preparation for the development of Time Travel Train. The studio’s core philosophy is short release cycles. Rather than spending years on a single project, they iterate quickly, get their games in front of players early, and carry the lessons from each release into the next. With Time Travel Train, EdelErde dares to dream bigger for the first time.
It’s the studio’s first game with a longer development cycle than 5 months. A step beyond the fast release rhythm, and a chance to prove what they can do with more time on the tracks.
