Map your escape
Many games have maps, but in Manor Cartographer you not only make it yourself, you also walk on it.
In this cozy horror puzzle adventure you are a cartographer trapped in a haunted manor. Your only way out is to explore the manor, make a map of it and use it to navigate through the dark. But beware, the manor comes alive in the dark; monsters and haunted doors awake from their timeless slumber. But it does not seem like they are there of their own free will. Someone or rather something is holding them in the manor and if you don’t find your way out, you may suffer the same fate.

Unique map making
As you can’t see the environment in the dark, you need to make a map of your surroundings to navigate. The game is split into two modes which are both played in the same game world, a first person exploration (light) mode and a top down map (dark) mode.
In the dark mode you can see your position on the map and while the map is the only thing you can see, you still move around in the actual world, meaning you still have all the collisions and footstep-sounds from the actual world.
Using the mapped environment and notes on the map, you attempt to put your plan into action. If you succeed, new paths, tools or information will be unlocked that enable you to map the manor further in light mode.

The Pipapos
Pipapo Games, also known from Map Map - A Game About Maps, is a young, ambitious and mostly female-lead studio from Hamburg. The founding members consist of Annika Neumann (Lead Programmer), Lukas Hort (Game and Level Designer), Laura Hantschel (Concept-, Character Artist) and Clara Müller (Project Manager, Art Director). The team is supported by two additional Pipapos: Ali Popa (Sound & Music) and Jennifer Wagner (Social Media).
They have been working together for 4 years now and are very passionate about maps and cartography. Combining their different skill sets and previous industry experience, they focus on developing stylized, humorous games that feature creative and unique mechanics.
They value the indie community a lot and can be found on most networking events of the local community.
