Why We Organize FLINTA* Games Meetups
Happy Pride Month! Everyone is welcome here, and this is why we’re hosting several FLINTA* Games Meetups throughout the year.

Happy Pride Month! We celebrate diversity and inclusivity—not just once a year, of course—but Pride Month serves as a reminder of what really matters: solidarity and a sense of community.
Everyone is welcome here, and this is why we’re hosting several FLINTA* Games Meetups throughout the year. The term FLINTA* stands for people identifying as female, lesbian, intersex, non-binary, trans, agender, and more. Let's take a look back and ahead:
FLINTA* Games Meetup since August 2023
In discussion with the community and with an awareness of the needs of people working in the games industry, we launched our first FLINTA* Games Meetup back in 2023—initially without a set agenda—to invite everyone who identifies as FLINTA* and to figure out what was needed, where we could support one another, and more.
We’ve now held nine Meetups so far:
- Meetups with allies to get everyone on the same page
- Meetups featuring peer portfolio reviews
- Meetups with a portfolio slam
- Meetups with short impulse talks
- Meetups as a mentoring dinner
- Meetups in collaboration with the PLAY Festival—open to everyone
Of course, more meetups are planned for this year as well!
Whether in a small group or with up to 30 people—we welcome everyone who helps shape the meetup with us, contributes ideas, or joins us for the exchange, whether you’re a CEO or a student.
We know that the reality for FLINTA* individuals in the games industry is still far from ideal. That’s not the only reason why it’s important to us that we share our experiences and support one another—we also want to collectively work toward creating a games industry in Hamburg that is open and inclusive for everyone.
"It is a real pleasure to build and strengthen this community. While the FLINTA* Label is by no means perfect, we hope that everyone who can be described by it feels welcome and included, especially also non-female-presenting people. We're proud to see that every time new connections are formed, exciting opportunities are created, and new memories are made. Here's to many more editions!" - Helen
"I’m happy to see every new and familiar face that comes to our meetups. We want to create a space where everyone feels welcome and can share their experiences in an enjoyable atmosphere. I encourage everyone to come as they are, and I look forward to the next events continuing with the same vibe, welcoming atmosphere, and supportive community." - Anna
