By now, several ways have been established how each and every one of us can help, set up by official bodies as well as by private actors. We would like to point some of those out here.

First of all, there is a continuously updated page by the city of Hamburg, which shows different ways how the citizens of Hamburg can help. The urgently needed forms of aid include financial and material donations, voluntary work, and providing accommodation for refugees. The page with ways to help can be found here (in German).

Additionally, if you're in Hamburg and want to help by donating goods, one option is the initiative "Der Hafen hilft e.V.". They collect goods to be delivered to Ukraine in the Oberhafen in central Hamburg. The warehouse where the donations are collected is provided by our parent organisation Hamburg Kretiv Gesellschaft. You can find more info what goods are needed and where/when you can donate them on this website.

Also, there are a number of initiatives from and for members of the games industry, both for developers here locally who would like to offer their support, as well as for developers fleeing Ukraine who are looking for information and support. We'd like to share a few of them with you here:

Studios from all over Europe are offering offices and/or private housing to rest for fellow game devs and all people fleeing Ukraine, including first studios offering spaces to sleep and work in Hamburg. The ever-evolving list can be found here.

Game Devs from all over the world exchange information on ways to support Ukrainian people and share practical info for people directly affected by the war on this Discord server.

A great initiative has been launched by US-based Necrosoft Games with the support of over 700 developers: the Bundle for Ukraine on itch.io. Here you will receive almost 1000 games in return for a donation of $10 or more. The proceeds will go in equal parts to the two aid organizations International Medical Corps and Voices of Children.

Hamburg-based devs and studios have started an initiative as well, collecting donations for several charity organizations that are active in Ukraine, sharing information and preparing to launch a steam bundle to support charity organization with the proceeds.
