9th-grade students at Hamburg’s district schools or high schools can now apply for the three-week "Schulpraktikum Games" in either January or June 2027.

The internship offers theoretical and practical insights into Hamburg’s games industry firsthand and highlights training and educational opportunities in this diverse field. In addition to visiting various Hamburg-based games companies, students will receive first-hand information on everything from game design and game art to programming and many other job profiles, presented by industry professionals on-site.

Since 2021, numerous students from Hamburg have completed their internships at companies such as InnoGames, Playa Games, and Fishlabs, as well as at the HAW – University of Applied Sciences, gaining insight into the diverse careers available.

"Schulpraktikum Games": A Joint Project of Hamburg’s Games Industry 

The "Schulpraktikum Games" is organized as a joint project by Hamburg-based games companies, the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, and the Creative Gaming e.V. initiative. It was initiated by game – Association of the German Games Industry e.V. (Hamburg Regional Office) and is supported by Gamecity Hamburg.
