For the fifth time, Gamecity Hamburg is offering game developers from the city the opportunity to showcase their games to a large number of gaming enthusiasts at the Game Playtest Night. This time, the Game Playtest Night will take place on April 9 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm in Hamburg's XPERION - the gaming event space with 100 high end gaming PCs on the 4th floor of Media Markt at the main train station.

The event is intended as a relaxed after-work event for all interested gamers and visitors to XPERION aged 18 and over. In three hours, up to 120 guests can play the games presented - alone or together in multiplayer -, give feedback to the developers, and have a lively chat with people who are just as enthusiastic about video games as they are.

How can I apply as a developer?

Interested developers simply follow the link to our registration form and register before the deadline on March 23 ends. The application form asks for basic information about the game to be test played and the number of gaming stations required. It is possible to run one game on several gaming stations at the same time, as long as there are enough developers on hand to supervise. This applies to both single-player and multiplayer titles. A trailer or other files briefly explaining the gameplay mechanics may also be added. Developers are also asked to consider the number of game stations they can supervise at the same time and a suitable evaluation method (online questionnaire, paper questionnaire, survey for the test players, etc.) so that they can collect and evaluate feedback as efficiently as possible. The Gamecity Hamburg team is gradually putting together a diverse selection of games and will notify all applicants and participating developers with further details.

How to participate as play tester?

Anyone over the age of 18 can participate as a play tester by simply buying a ticket. 

The location at XPERION Hamburg

XPERION Hamburg is located on the top floor of Mönckebergstraße 1, directly above Media Markt at Hamburg Central Station. Covering an area of over 3,500 square meters, XPERION Hamburg offers everything related to gaming, e-sports, technology, and lifestyle—including 100 professionally equipped gaming PCs where you can comfortably play for several hours alone or in co-op mode! The event area is separate from the regular sales area, but at the same time offers enough space to relax and chat with other gamers while playing. Snacks and drinks are also included for guests.
