FLINTA* Games Meetup @PLAY Festival - Open for Allies!

We want to bring the FLINTA* (Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Non-binary, Trans and Agender) side of the games industry together in a cozy setting! This time, we're co-hosting the event with the PLAY - Creative Gaming Festival. For this special occasion, the event is also open to allies, so people who don't identify with the FLINTA* label, but support those who do.

Once again, we're inviting all FLINTA* (Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Non-binary, Trans and Agender) people in the games industry to get to know and support each other. This time around, we're also inviting allies to join us! In this context, ally means anyone who supports the FLINTA* people in their personal or professional life. So let's chat, snack and mingle!

To open up this space and further the cause, we will have a short impulse talk on the importance of FLINTA* Programs in the games industry and tell us how to be a good ally under the title of "Levelling up together - the importance of community and allyship" by Isa Spitznagel. It's the perfect opportunity to strengthen your network, learn something and explore the wonderful PLAY exhibition.

We extend a warm welcome to anyone who identifies with the FLINTA* label or is an ally and has an interest in the industry, regardless of position - from students and apprentices to CEOs.

About the speaker Isa Spitznagel:

Isa is a Berlin-based concept artist and illustrator specialising in character and costume design. After working as a copywriter in marketing, they pivoted to a career in the games industry, mainly working with indie studios as a freelancer. They recently joined Achtung Autobahn, a development studio based in Berlin specialized in historical fiction games. They became a member of the FemDevsMeetup organizational team in 2024 to help with meetups in Berlin.

About PLAY - Creative Gaming Festival

PLAY is the first and only festival worldwide to unite media art, discourse and education with the culture of digital games. Since 2007, it has focused on the creative utilization of digital games: invent, build, tinker, modify, program, dance, discuss – anything goes! It's taking place from November 12-15 2025 at the Urbaneo. Aside from an extsenive workshop program and our meetup, PLAY always features an exhibition of playful media, which we highly recommend.
