Following the successful reorientation of the DEP (German Developer Award) last year, the organizers are consistently refining the award ceremony, which is eagerly awaited every year, and presenting it for the first time in an elaborately produced live stream. Due to the Corona pandemic, the presentation of the awards in 15 categories does not take place as usual in a grand gala.

Further optimization is also taking place behind the scenes: This year, the jury is again gaining new members from the German-speaking games and developer scene, and the percentage of female jurors is also increasing. In this way, the submitted games and projects will not only be tested and evaluated more intensively and in greater detail, but also viewed from as many different angles as possible. 

The DEP has been held annually since 2004 and is the oldest award for the development of outstanding computer games from German-speaking countries. The prize is awarded in 15 categories.
